License terms for using Keyway software and services

What you can do
- Install and use the Keyway CLI on your devices
- Access the Keyway web application and API
- Store and manage secrets for your repositories
- Sync secrets with supported providers (Vercel)
Restrictions
- Use the Software to develop a competing product
- Circumvent security measures or access controls
- Access secrets from repositories you don't have permission to
- Share your authentication tokens with others
- Use the service for illegal purposes
1. License Grant
Subject to the terms of this Agreement, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Keyway CLI, web application, and related services for your personal or business purposes.
2. Intellectual Property
The Keyway CLI is open source and available under the MIT license. The Keyway web application, API, and backend services remain proprietary to Keyway. The Keyway name, logo, and branding are trademarks of Keyway.
3. Your Data
You retain all rights to the secrets and data you store. We do not claim ownership over your data. Your secrets are encrypted using AES-256-GCM—we cannot access plaintext values. You are responsible for maintaining backups.
4. Third-Party Services
Keyway integrates with GitHub, Vercel, and other services. Your use of these is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for third-party service availability.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
6. Limitation of Liability
We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
7. Termination
We may terminate this Agreement if you breach any terms. Upon termination, your license is revoked, you must cease use and delete the Software, and we may delete your data.
8. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of France. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France.
